Not that it ever made that much sense but InDesign cross-references have always shared the Hyperlinks panel. All of a sudden, open up the Hyperlinks panel and the cross-references (and all reference to them) are gone. Poof. No forwarding address. Well, if this turn of events has left you somewhat disoriented, not to worry…cross-references haven’t disappeared; they have instead earned a panel of their very own. There are two ways you can access the new Cross-References panel—like other panels, you can find it under the Window menu, hiding under the Type & Tables category.
The other way to access the Cross-References panel is, with your Type tool cursor active in a text field, go to Type > Hyperlinks & Cross-References. Choosing Insert Cross-Reference will open up the Cross-References panel.
